Hugh Cornwell, the former Stranglers frontman, has released his latest solo album, Moments of Madness. The album is a departure from his previous work, with a more experimental and introspective sound. Cornwell says that the album is a reflection of his own personal journey over the past few years, which has been marked by both personal and professional challenges.

“I wanted to make an album that was honest and raw, and that reflected where I am at this point in my life,” Cornwell says. “I think I’ve succeeded in doing that with Moments of Madness.”

The album opens with the track “The Killing Moon,” a slow-burning ballad that sets the tone for the rest of the album. Cornwell’s vocals are raw and emotional, and the music is sparse and atmospheric. The track is a powerful statement of intent, and it shows that Cornwell is not afraid to take risks.

The rest of the album follows in a similar vein, with Cornwell exploring a variety of musical styles and themes. “The Man Who Sold the World” is a driving rocker that recalls Cornwell’s days with the Stranglers. “The End of the World” is a hauntingly beautiful ballad, while “The Day the World Stood Still” is a powerful protest song.

Cornwell says that he is proud of Moments of Madness, and he believes that it is his best work to date.

“I think this is the most personal and honest album I’ve ever made,” Cornwell says. “I’m really proud of it, and I hope that people will enjoy it as much as I enjoyed making it.”
