Chicago's Mexican Independence Day celebrations are in full swing, and street and ramp closures are in effect around the event area.
Where Are the Closures?
The following closures are in place:
- Harrison Street from Ashland Avenue to Damen Avenue
- Damen Avenue from 18th Street to Cermak Road
- Cermak Road from Damen Avenue to Ashland Avenue
- All ramps to and from the Eisenhower Expressway at Damen Avenue
When Will the Closures End?
The closures will remain in effect until 11:59 p.m. on Saturday, September 17.
What to Expect
Motorists should expect delays in the area and are advised to use alternate routes if possible. Public transportation is encouraged.
