Two Players To Miss Liverpool Vs Nottingham Forest As Three Face Late Fitness Test

Two Players to Miss Liverpool vs Nottingham Forest as Three Face Late Fitness Test

Liverpool's injury crisis has deepened ahead of their Carabao Cup clash with Nottingham Forest on Thursday night, with two players ruled out and three facing late fitness tests.

Goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher and defender Ibrahima Konate will both miss the match due to injury, while Roberto Firmino, Darwin Nunez, and Thiago Alcantara are all doubts.

Kelleher has been ruled out with a groin injury, while Konate is nursing a muscle problem. Firmino is struggling with a calf issue, Nunez has a shoulder problem, and Thiago is battling an ear infection.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp will make a late decision on the fitness of Firmino, Nunez, and Thiago, but all three are likely to miss the match.

The news is a major blow to Liverpool, who are already without a number of key players due to injury. Luis Diaz, Diogo Jota, and Arthur Melo are all long-term absentees, while Jordan Henderson is also a doubt for the Forest match.

Liverpool will be hoping to avoid any further injuries ahead of their crucial Premier League clash with Manchester City on Sunday.

Forest, meanwhile, will be looking to cause an upset against Liverpool. The Reds are the holders of the Carabao Cup, but Forest have a good record in the competition, having won it four times.

The match is scheduled to kick off at 7.45pm on Thursday night at the City Ground.
